Your setup isn't a complex one, so the Logitech Harmony 1000 or 1100 models would be fine and would cope with your requirements without breaking sweat. TBH, I think they're probably the only tablet style ones that would come in under your budget. The others, eg. Nevo and Pronto are usually more expensive and far more complicated to setup, often requiring an installer. I'm not a fan of the two handed remotes and binned my Pronto for the Harmony One and haven't looked back since. The Harmony software isn't perfect but it's a lot easier to setup, use and customise than the Pronto software, which I felt was a hobby in itself. There is a forum at the Logitech site where you should be able to read up on them more and Remotecentral is also worth checking out.

Yup agree with that , Harmony your best bet , their support is pretty good so even if you have issues (always minor tweaking things)using the the forum then support I'm sure would resolve.

Prontos give you more control but unless you are totally PC savvy I would avoid.

I've had a look at some of the advanced phillps models and there well and truly blowing away my budget, i think they also may be a little out of my league, they seem to virtually control everything electrical in a home. Your right about the nevo models they do require an installer and i've read that some people are charging £150 to set the remote up.

I think its going to be the harmony 1100 that i'll go for, most poeple seem to use the harmony remotes and are quite happy with them

many thaks for the replies.
