I've had a Sony KDL-40W4500 since 2009 matched with an ancient Onkyo DVD receiver, ancient small Mission surround sound speakers and SKY+ HD box.
I've been really happy with this set-up but feel it's time to move on considering tecnology has advanced somewhat.
I would like a smart TV and would consider a sound bar/platform with sub woofer (I already have Sonos in other rooms) to get rid of ridiculous wiring and also because the TV has to sit in the corner of the room.
The optimum/desired size of TV for my room is 40-50 inches.
I noticed the Samsung that has just won product of the year in the 2014 Awards but it costs less than I paid 5 years ago for the Sony. Would it be a suitable upgrade in terms of picture quality, features etc or are there better, albeit more costly options?
