Finally made a decision on what TV to get, the LGCX 55" model this is for an open plan kitchen only to read reviews saying it would not be suitable for a bright room! Is this correct? Would I be better of going for a Samsung 90T?

Any advice would be great, looking to purchase on the black Friday sales

Thanks 😁

Received a Philips 55OLED805 (https://www.whathifi.com/reviews/philips-55oled805) today to replace my 14 year old Pioneer Kuro PDP-LX5090 .

I have to say, I've only had a little time with it so far, but genuinely blown away by the picture quality - our living room gets very bright as one wall is basically a window and I've no doubt this telly will be absolutely fine in that bright light even in the summer from what I've seen - certainly more capable than the Pioneer which was beginning to fade quite badly given its age.

FYI, it's currently on sale at Currys for £1,199 (https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-an...ed-tv-with-google-assistant-10206034-pdt.html) which is a bargain considering it was £1,499 just a couple of weeks ago - I'm glad I held off!

So we've watched a number of films in daylight now - with my old Pioneer we had to close the curtains to see the screen clearly (it was old!), but don't have to do that any more. I'm not sure about really strong summer daylight (have to wait a few months for that!), but certainly a bright winter sunlit room is no issue for the OLED.
