As just TVs the HX is a better TV, the NX is all about design and internet connectivity (no wifi dongle needed). The HX would be the one to go for.

It is more about the tech than the price. The edge lit screens we have seen from Sony so far ( up to 7 series ) do not perform as well as the CCFL models. The EX503 is a mid level product in terms of price but I would have it every day over the LED models.

We have to see the 8 and 9 series yet and they may improve things. The models below this that we have seen are just not up to scratch so much so that we are no longer going to range them.

Nick is there something wrong with the LED models then?

It is an led one i have taken a shine too, I compared one side by side to the lcd one and the led one had a sharper image, the lcd one was abit fuzzy close up.

I did like both of them

Popped into the local Sony centre today the 46NX703 was £200 (at £1699 before Sony tv trade offers) more expensive than the 46HX703 but the NX model being edge Lit LED did look better (brighter & more detail) than the 46HX703 on HD SKy BBC 1. I requested the Sony store guy to switch over to standard def..... on a standard def sky movie channel - Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian was showing both sets left me equally unimpressed.
