Tuning the sound of your guitar

And yes, I know which language I'm writing in, thanks, especially as it's the only 'option' the site offers on that pulldown.

Add another one to my gripes list here ;-)

Do you think guitar players have the most sensitive ears? I would say guitar is an awesome instrument, but it's definitely not the most complicated one. For example, guitar has 6 strings, harp has about 40, bandura has about 60 and piano has 230 and more. By the way, I would never think that piano is the instrument with the biggest amount of strings, I have just checked that🙂

If that's representative of the quality of the essays you're flogging, I'll pass, thanks.

With, ummm, cables... ;-)

And your point is?

The truth is that different cables do have a subtle effect on the tone of an electric guitar.

I have the standard Fender cables, and they're good.

My son has one of the Fender Custom Shop cables, and its good too, but subjectively the sound I get using it is smoother. I stick to my standard cables.

The assessment was done with a clean (not overdriven) amplifier - a Vox AC15 as it happens, and the only thing changed was the connecting cable.

Throw some effects pedals into the equation and the cable thing pales into insignificance.

Really long cables can roll off the treble. Remember that the signal being generated by a guitar pickup is puny, and the longer the cable the less current gets through.

It's all well and good questioning things, but if you're not in a position to assess it for yourself then it's a bit of a fools errand.

Well you've yet to say anything of any value on the subject.

How do you qualify your original assertion?

If you don't have any first hand experience then your "opinion" is of no value whatsoever.
