tube preamp for TT - is it worth it?

Hi all,

im contemplating a new preamp into my Pioneer SS integrated.

im using the ART DJpre111 at the moment and it does a good job and gets a good rap.

ive been a tube man all my life for instrument amplification. ive tried 2 tube hifi amps and havent been impressed with the flat tone and lack of warmth. Im wondering if a combination of SS amp with a tube pre will give me the tube dynamics im after?

Possibly, can be an expensive route though.

What is your budget, turntable and cartridge?
