Those it matter what wire you use?

If you have hum, use an earth wire between your deck and amp (or phono pre-amp if you use one.)

If you don't get hum then don't bother. (Project 2 Xperience SP instructions.)

An earth lead does not need to be anything special so long as it conducts and has a couple of spade lugs.
