Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help with this issue... I have a Denon CD Hifi system which I am very happy with and my wife and I have a rather large CD collection built up over a number of years.

What we want to be able to do is play a CD on our system but have the sound come out of an external speaker in a different room. Is there a bluetooth or simular transmitting device I can buy to achieve this?

How many rooms do you want to transmit to?

There are several possibilities.

For one, although not the cheapest option, Sonos would do it. Especially useful if you want to transmit to a couple of rooms.

Does your Denon system have a line out? If so connect this to a Sonos Connect's analogue inputs and use one of the Zone Players (Play 1, 3 or 5) or a Connect Amp + speakers in the other room(s).

You will also gain streaming capability from the internet/computer/NAS on your Denon system, as well as in the other zones.

Maplins are selling these for around £150. Small wireless box connects to line output on your Denon System then wirelessly to a pair of JBL Contol 1 type speakers which operate on a powered master/slave setup, requiring a connecting speaker wire between speakers. Small remote with volume/mute and cables supplied.

Usual caveats apply regarding effective range etc, but if the rooms are fairly close it should work.
