Time for a new TV

Hi all. Long time member and reader, not often a poster...

Basically I've got £500 to spend on a new TV. I've been very happy with my Sony 32P3020 but its looking a little small these days and has developed a patchy backlight. Picture quality is top of the list for me. I've got Virgin Tivo and a Sony BDP-S360 Blu-ray player.

I've seen a Panasonic TX-P42G30 for £480 but I'm open to any suggestions. Not bothered about 3D at all.

If you're not bothered about 3D, then G30 is an excellent choice. If you want 3D, check this.

I'd second that. Panasonic's 2011 TVs are cracking value right now, given that the new 2012 models have arrived.
