This is actually a follow-up of my earlier unanswered post about swapping soundbars from Samsung HW Q90R to Sony HT ST5000. This was done because I believed, wrongly as it turned out, that there was no way that I could house rear speakers in the lounge because of the room layout. But someone has come-up with a solution but before I contact the supplier I want to get an opinion here.
The rear speakers CAN be symmetrically housed on top of built-in units along the back wall, which will be only 6 feet or so behind the seating position. But the shelves on which the speakers can sit are rather high, same as the top of a standard doorway. But if I get speaker isolation pads that allow the speakers to tilt forwards and downwards towards the listener as well as turn slightly towards him, will the surround sound effect work satisfactorily?
