Following a bit of info off here about 'BT's mains conditioning units' I just bought one on Ebay for £34 today.
Plugged it in and fed my Onkyo 875, PS3, sub and Sony 970 from it after going through the Tacima, music and soundtracks are even more involving!

Background clarity, bass tightness, detail, connection to the music is yet again on a higher plane. Had to turn the sub level down as it was rattling the door. Timing and separation is sooo nice, can't get over it. (and it was bloody good before)

Boy is my system singing now.

BT MAINS CONDITIONING UNIT MCU 5A 125. Brand new, still in its box.
Its about 6" x 5" and heavy as it has a big transformer inside.

Suspect Russ Andrews has made one on similar lines to this, bargain price, amazed at how good it works.

www.hi-fi-insight.com/bt-mains-conditioning-filters.html is a good report on it.

It has a large transformer that is wound in both directions which cancels out mains borne pollution, plus a couple of big capacitors that deal with surge ensuring a constant clean supply.

This must reduce dramatically the radiation from the transformers inside the equipment it feeds, which in turn ensures the signal paths remain pure.

The clarity, depth and tempo of the music now is so involving.
