Thinking of upgrading my denon 2113 to the Yamaha RX-V1073 AV Receiver. [/b]

Has anybody got this reciever and will it be a worthy upgrade. I was going yo upgrade to the denon x4000 and found this and looks such a bargain from Peter Tyson at £459 with 3 years warranty...[/b]

my research on the web tells me it's an Australian model and yamaha have brought them into the uk to sell off their remaining stock and its an equivelant to the 1030, is this correct?[/b]

any help and thoughts will be much appreciated.[/b]

Thank goodness for that! I was hoping my rx-a1030 hasn't just become redundant by a cheaper Aussie model  I've only just unboxed mine.

I know how you feel. It's only half the price that I paid for my rx-a1020 last year. Maybe you have to console yourself with the thought that on the Aussie model, the on screen menu will be upside down. :)

 Series1boy, let us know how you get on with utilising Denon Link I've heard some people can hear a difference and others can't.

Just been talking to Peter Tyson and they have said the 1073 is the SAME spec as the 1030. The reason why it is so cheap is because these receivers were part of a bundle and they are just selling them off. They are brand new and the boxes are unopened and they come with a 3 year warranty! I'm thinking of changing my order now from the denon as it's a proper bargain and it's cheaper!

To be fair I'm chuffed to be bits with mine, I don't think you'd be disappointed. So I take it that it is exactly the same model not just spec, same fascia etc? If you could demo the RX-V1073 or the equivalent RX-A1030 then you're sorted and you can decide which you prefer. I personally found the X4000 flat and didn't really have any sort of "character" to it. Have you also considered the Marantz SR7008? I believe that's heavily discounted at the moment.

I'm in the same position. Got a 2113 in the bedroom and a set of focal dome speakers. Narrowed in on the x4000 and 1073. Only problem is there is no sub EQ on the 1073 whereas the x4000 has audyssey xt32. I hated the previous years 3313 as it was too flat but I'm told the x4000 has a bolder edge.
