You'd be surprised how far 12W will go. I used to drive a pair of 86dB Sonus Fabers with 14W very satisfactorily.

I'd hook your 90dB speakers up to it first on a demo to see if you like it.

I don't think £1400 is all that bad considering you're getting a decent DAC as well.

Do let us know if you do. Always had a thing for Quad. You might find speakers are fine anyway. My amp drives my 89dB ones just fine and its 25 watt.

EDIT: Posted before Infiniteloop's comment was seen.

With DAC and AptX that's not a bad price.
