andyjm, the less is more school of thought would say that 2 wrongs don't make a right.

Just because a recording may have been passed through all sorts of electronic gadgets by the music company, doesn't mean to say that we should do the same sort of thing all over again in our hi-fi systems.

....which reminds me, I've not read about 'direct cut' LPs for ages. In my yoof I saved for weeks to buy records from Sheffield Labs (amongst others).
