I had the Toshiba picture frame TV, a 36'' version - probably close to the pinnacle of CRT after 50+ years of development.

I wonder if we are reaching that point already with the latest plasma / lcd offerings and thats after less than 10 years and if improvements from now on will be minor before the inevitable switch in technology.. Limitations in broadcast quality will surely make developments from now subtle at the most

i think we are at a point where any differences/improvements in picture quality are very marginal , for me the peak was the pioneer kuro 5090 , even now , two years after the kuro , its only being slightly beaten in some areas , and it still has the deepest blacks ..

maybe oled will bring a more noticeable improvement , but i think lcd , plasma tech is nearly as good as it can be , at least its getting cheaper year on year ..

It would be getting cheaper year on year if they didn't keep adding new technological breakthroughs.....................I'm looking at you 3D ;(
