I don't find the bass too heavy, mind you I haven't got it turned up too much.

You calibrate your system as is recommended, then you get films like this and Tron Legacy come along which are 5-10dB hot in the bass and your subwoofer takes over the show.

but I don't find my blu-ray copy of Tron Legacy excessive in the bass department (and I use twin Monitor audio subs), for me it has one of the best soundtracks and is always used as a demo by me when I have friends over.
