hi whathifi team after seeing the bang-olufsen bv8-40 the other day i was quite taken back by the picture quality it was very impressive with the 100hz motion compensation i was watching various things on this tv and the images were truly impressive and not to mention quite good black levels to. and just wondered if your going to review this tv any time soon i have also seen the advert for this tv on this website aswell as in your magazine. i'm very happy with my tv and not looking to upgrade but after having a demo and being impressed just thought i would ask thanks in advance.

my dream tv has always been a b&0 but never had the money to afford one i will dissagree with you when you say that there are sonys and samsungs that would be good or even better. i've seen and owed samsung aswell as seeing sonys in the shops and had demos of a number of bang-olufsen tvs and speakers and to me they sound like nothing i have heard or seen before i will also add that iam not new to home theatre and have been into it for a number of years. people always say that it is style over substance i will agree that they can be abit tight when it comes to adding connections and they can also be abit slow when it comes to catching up to todays technology but the materials used for there tvs are of very good quality glass aluminium etc and as for the the vision i am yet to see anything imo that can touch one. theres just something that stands out more to me than any other manufacturer when it comes to the picture of a bang-olufsen. i like the fact that you don't have to calibrate the tv as its done already the picture automatically adapts and changes to produce a prinstine image up untill the time that you switch off the tv. not forgetting there visionclear picture processing which works on a number things related to the picture that you see. i remember seeing xmen 2 on the bv7-40 and it was something that up to now haven't seen yet on any other set it was one of the cleanest sharpest vibrant noise free images that i have ever seen and that was on the standard dvd which was built into the tv and before they started introducing the 100hz on there new range. even the sound that there tvs produce is something of a revelation the clarity and bass beats many tvs that i've heard hands down and belive me when i say i'm not a fan boy as i own a tv that iam more than happy with but i do admire good picture and sound when i see and here it.

Precisely the opposite, actually - yes, the B&O sets have style, but they're also beautifully made, as anyone who's visited the factory in Struer will tell you.

i have to admit i dont know much about b and o , i dont doubt they make quality products , if i was spending so much money on one of their tvs the main issue would be that it would be surpassed quite soon by new technology , it seems like theres new proccesing chips , 200hz , led , etc etc coming out every month , but if your not into keeping up with the jones,es and would be happy with one for 4 or 5 years then im sure it wouldnt dissapoint ...
