Technics sl5 crackle

Hey people! I have a Technics sl5 which was working PERFECTLY. Last week i had the move it and replace needle cause the old one was worn out. Now it makes a horrible crackling noise whichi can not seem to detect.... What can be wrong? Thanks!Pim

Perhaps you could supply a bit more info. particularly on the cartridge you have fitted and which 'needle' you put on.

The TT originally came fitted with a Panasonic Technics EPC-24 cartridge that used a EPS-24CS stylus. Is yours fitted like this?

There are, as far as I am aware, no wires you can disturb when replacing a stylus so I am a little at a loss in answering this one fully.

What exactly do you mean when you say you had to move it?

Did you have to physically disconnect any connecting cables / earth wires?
