I have one these linear trackers which I have used since I bought it in the late 80's. It has worked perfectly until recently but it now rotates and the arm tracks the record for half an inch but then returns to the start position.

Can anyone suggest someone who could fix this for me?

Thanks

Garry

Vantage Audio might be worth a shot. They reckoned they could do mine about 18 months ago, and prices seemed reasonable from recollection. Didn't get round to it as it's only a spare turntable, but they seem to know what they're at so may still happen. Let me know if you have any success!

there is a company that specialises on technics but i cant remember their name, the last poster may have named them but it dosen't ring a bell, hang on the deck doctor but i think he only does 1210's, might be worth a punt.

Oh for heaven's sake. Ignore the advice above and ask on a forum that has the required expertise, such as audiokarma or vinylengine. Probably needs cleaning and regreasing the rails fter all these years.

Over and out.

The OP asked if anyone knew who could fix it, we did that, yes the vinyl engine is a wealth of information but if a member asks for help should we just say go somewhere else and ask them.
