I am using a new Tannoy TS1001 Sub, but the power doesn't switch off automatically. The sub is set to auto power off, of course. Power remains on even if the sub is disconnected from the receiver. Does someone have a solution for this?
Auto power off can be a pain. I have a Yamaha sub and when I used auto power off it would shut down during quiet periods of the movie. In the end I solved the problem by connecting the sub to the switched power outlet of the amp and turning the sub to permanently on. This way it comes on when the amp is switched on and goes off when it is switched off.
I think you are confusing The RMS output of the sub with the electrical supply needed to power it. If A Sub requires a power supply of 475 watts then you will have a massive electricity bill!
My Yamaha amp outputs 6X100 watts RMS=600watts yet the maximum power it consumes is 360 watts.
Well the manual says 475VA the fuse rating is 1.6 amps 230v x 1.6 makes it 368 watts supposing it takes 75% of the rating at full chat that still more than 120 watts available from my amps outlet.
