i think i will wait till WHF has reviewed the v4i because they give the v4 5 stars would just like to see how much better than the v4 the v4i are i miss a bit of bass with my v1 and the newer v4i has bigger mid/bass drivers so more bass ?.i know the only cosmetic change really is the new tweeter but i actually prefer the look to the older v series.

I have the original V4 on a second system, excellent speakers conidering their very low price, the one thing that baffles me is ,if you did the knuckle rap test on the sides they would fail for me, they seem a bit more hollow sounding than the other MA floorstandrs I have , yet the bass is quite tight deep and non boomey , tannoy must have done some clever tuning with the bass drivers and cabinet synergy,

it seems quite a price hike though just for a new metal tweeter, which may or may not sound as sweet as the one on the original

Has ayone listened to these yet? Look the same as the V4s. They have a different plinth design don't they? Can you stand them on laminate or hard wood floors? Hope the metal tweeter doesn't make them sound harsh in the treble. Look forward to reading the review of these. Similar price to the Q acoustics 2050i now.

Anyone heard these or the V1i already ?

Before I owned the q acoustics 2020i speakers I had the V1 speakers for a while and I loved them but there was one thing that bothered me ; they sounded a little bit muffled. So i quess the new tweeter will solve that (little) problem.

It is also good to see that the new V4i speakers have new plinths. Looks very good and is much more steady.

I have the original v4 and they are excellent, they kick out decent bass too, I have mine about 20 inches from rear wall , 8ft apart toed in. I can't see the v4i being much better tbh and for 200 quid I don't think there is anything as good IMO .
