I was all set to press 'GO' on buying a pair of Tannoy DC6ts for little over £500 having auditioned them and been very impressed. However, I've just been offerred the SEs for only £150 more...decisions decisions. Anyone got any view on this? Reviews seem to suggest the upgrade is worthwhile.

Thanks

Indeed they do and for that sort of money I'd very much try to audition them.

I'd never buy speakers 'blind'. Can you get to a dealer to audition?

You might even find they are no good for your room / system anyway.

A year or so back I home auditioned the DC6T's along with a pair of Rega RS3's.

The DC6T's were very good, but for me, with my current kit, the RS3's matched better and were more musical.

The RS3's were £780 and the DC6T's were a lttle less.

Since the DC6T's have come down to £500, but if the SE version is down to £650 (from £1000), then I would be very interested in having a demo quick.

good question, ive got a set of dc6ts and wondered too if i should of forked out the extra for the se model although the 6ts were prob the best speaker i have ever heard at the price.

richer sounds recently had a set of definition dc8s hooked up when i was in buying some plugs and was blown away by them.

at £2500 maybe having to put some exta hours in at work!
