Does anyone have the Tannoy Arena Lite 5.1 speakers ? If so how do you rate their performance compared to the kef 2005.5 ?

Im thinking of pairing the tannoys with a denon 2308 amp and the denon 1940 dvd player.

Can anyone give me their views please on what you think this system would be like ?

The Tannoy Arena Lites are a great little package - certainly better than the KEF 2005s, though not quite in the league of the KEF 3005SEs.

I think this would make a superb cinema system - just be careful what TV you're using the Denon player with, however, as there have been compatibility problems reported (between it and some Samsung sets, for example).

Claire's verdict is probably reflected by the respective prices then - on line at least, with the KHT2005's available for £450, (and had been £400 at 'play.com,' although no longer listed) but I've not certainly seen yet the Tannoy's for below £700. The 3005SE's are more again. I guess you get what you pay for.

Claire, any comments on the Audica CS systems, similar price range?

In this case, yes!

A quick look at our Buyer's Guide reveals the Audica CS-system 1 got five stars back in March 2005 - not sure how that'd compete with today's packages at that price, mind, as we haven't re-reviewed it since. Got to be worth an audition, though.

The CS-system 3 was also reviewed in 2005 and got four stars - great system but we felt a tad overpriced at £1100 - again, worth an audition, especially if you can get a deal.
