It's slightly tilted too. Didn't notice till I took the pic. Might have another move about with the speakers.

Yup, the mrs presents dwarfs my pile :-( lol.

Dont follow the "yolk" joke?? It's still early though so maybe the penny will drop later 🙂

Sorry about that... A term used in the agri trade meaning settup!!

The poor bloke didn't stand a chance as it's Irish agri slang, spelled "Yoke", and means "thing"....but you're right, it is a nice yoke. 😉

Apologies Cno...

Poor spelling, this time!!

Good knowledge by you though!!!

No great accomplishment on my behalf, as I'm involved in Irish agri.

I think you are in Scotland, so there is often a commonality of expression, that is like a foreign language to everyone else.....like sheuch (or sheugh)! 🙂

Nice lookin Set-up , and a lovely large room to enjoy it in 🙂 Just wonder , is the CA 650 A good and powerful enough for the B&W 683`s. These are pretty large ,aren`t they ....

Obviously with a power amp connected the speakers will sound much better at higher volumes but for normal listening volumes the CA copes very well. The CA and B&W partnership doesn't have any problem sending vibrations throughout the whole house and it never sounds like its struggling. The volume never goes past the 11 o'clock position.

That is good news for me as I am considering that exact amplifier for my speakers Mezzo 6 which would probably need even less power. Anyway, have you had other amps driving this set of B&W ? If so, how would you rate the CA 650 A against it ? Thanks for your help and opinion 🙂

Unfortunately I've not had them connected up to another amp. Just yesterday I was considering connecting them upto my reciever just to see how they sounded, think ill give it ago tomorrow.

I had the mezzo 6's on order to go with the 650a but was dissapointed with them when I laid eyes on them. So took a trip down to hifi corner to audition some 684's but then clocked the 683's. It was love at first sight, lol.

Yes,I am familiar with that irresistible feeling about the B&W `s ... I was considering the 684 myself, but my missus decided that the Mezzo 6`s are to her liking so that was decisive 🙂 I am currently driving them with a receiver and I`ve never been disappointed, but two weeks ago a friend of mine gave me his stereo amp Marantz PM 7200 to try them on with ...man, that was some difference. I doubt you`d be disappointed connecting yours to the receiver, but I also highly doubt you`ll get get even close to the sound that the Azur 650 A produces. It will be very interesting to share your thoughts on that after you`ve tried them on ....

Ok, connected them up to the Sony 3500es earlier today and the drop in SQ was noticeable straight away. Infact, such a drop in SQ that when I've bought the centre speaker and sub to match the 683's. I'll be upgrading my reciever.
