I have a Sony str-dn1040 receiver and the surrounds are Cambridge audio minx min11s. Upon turning on the receiver via remote. Or via my phone starting to stream via AirPlay. Only the surround speakers make a popping noise. I am not 100% sure yet that it's both although I think it is. The left one popped will see if right one does tomorrow also.

How can it be fixed? I recalibrated and Dan from richer sounds advised me to swap the surrounds around and it still popped the next time. What could cause this? The only thing I could think of is speaker wires are overlapping. (Both run from receiver towards the sofa and then go behind. Will it damage the speakers if I let the matter carry on? I have no other way to get the speaker wire to the speaker placement without having it follow the same route and touching or overlapping.

Has this popping problem always been present or has it started only recently?

i haven't had my speakers long so recently. I've only watched one film in 5.1 so far. Richer sounds said the 1040 paired with the min11's pops for some reason as it happened every time they booted it up for the day. He said it's happened for quite a few people.. Supposedly it's fine and won't cause any damage
