In my room(4x3) the couch is against the rear wall and because of the size of the room this cant be changed. Ate one side i have a wooden 'wall' and on the other side there is some sort of fireplace so the surround speakers cant be placed at the side. Right now the surround speakers, wharfedale 9.sr, are hanging on the rear wall and they are directed to the front speakers. I assume this is not wat it supposed to be.

Does anyone know if this can be bettered? I was thinking of bipole speakers to hang on the rear wall, but one tweeter will then direct to one side wall that will be only a few inches away.

Can you put a link on a photo upload page like imgshack and we can have a look at your options.

I think I am in the same boat, and I put direct fire speakers on my right and left, but just bought some RXFX and going to put the behind me at about 1-2 feet above my head, as my sofa is on the back wall, but not sure if your back wall will be suitable for di-pole until we see a pic
