Surround sound settings??

Just setup my new Yamaha RX-667 amp and am very impressed with it so far! Used the automated speaker setup program and all worked fine. I'm running it with Bose Dual Cubes, which i know aren't supposed to be run separate from a bose system but i've had no problems when i ran them off my sony amp, and a Gale sub. It sounds brilliant to my ears but just wanted to check if the settings are all ok.

It's set all the speakers to small which is great cause they cant reproduce bass frequencies and set the sub cross over at 200hz.

Does this sound ok to you experts out there??

Should be fine as long as your sub can reach that high

Just checked that out on the Gale site and it says 180hz so i'd be best to change the crossover down to that i'm guessing???

You might want to drop a bit lower still, few subs perform perfectly at the very limits of their frequency range. 150Hz should do it, but again that depends on how low your speaker cut-off. You may have to compromise somewhere.

You may want to consider upgrading your speaker system to get the best from your new amp.

That is indeed my next planned upgrade! I'm looking around at the moment.
