Suggestions for CD player with 2nd hand HK670 amp

Hi,

I am very new to this and any comments are welcome. I have managed to scrape together a harman kardon HK670 stereo amp with a set of Tannoy Mercury mx3 speakers (both "previously owned"). There was also a used harman kardon CD player available, but upon testing it appeared to have trouble reading some CDs. Are there any suggestions for a CD player that would work with my combination. I would also consider getting a new one, depending on the price.
