Suggest a HD projector for £500-800?

I would like to fit a projector in a room 3.5m wide (from lens to screen will be 3m). I've been advised the BenQ W1080ST+ is good but is there anything as good or better for less or is it the classic case of gets what you pay for?

I bought an Optoma HD50 18 months ago and it's brilliant. My room size is approximately same as yours. Maybe 25% bigger. The screen is 100 inches and image is crisp and bright. That's through a 10m HDMI lead. Not that it matters.

I have this although I bought is as the HD25 which is white (not black) and came with included 3D glasses, but the mechanics/electronics are otherwise the same as the HD141X and I paid a lot more tghan the Amazon special. It's about 3m from my wall and I project onto an 80 inch screen and the picture is great. I'm sure if you pay more you get something better, but honestly, the picture still impresses even after two years of service.
