Hi All,

I have been reading about sub being placed too close to electronics like pc (where hdd is the main concern), amp etc with potential of damaging the electronics. Although most sub is magnetically shielded, is there any concern putting electronics close to the sub?

I have my htpc placed near my REL sub, should I move it away?

Hi,

Used to sit a laptop on top of sub while the laptop was charging - could hear a hum from sub. Moved it away and kept it away so no hum was heard.

I'd think about 2 feet of free space between them would be sufficient?

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.

Thanks Cofnchtr,

I placed the sub next to electronics rack, perhaps should just move it further away... Well, consider your lappy's hdd lucky not being damaged :)

Cheers mate.

You can put the sub anywhere in your room. Where is sounds best is what you want, so test it yourself and your ears will say ok when you find that sweet spot.
