Is a Subwoofer level supposed to be set at 75db the same as the rest of your AV speakers?

I have seen reference to Subwoofers frequency at -6db what does this mean ?

Appreciate any advice

Regards

There are a few guides around for getting the best from your sub. Take a look HERE.
If you don't have a SPL meter, you can get one pretty cheap from the
likes of maplins etc. I use the Radio Shack Analogue one. I think BK
Elec also sell it. Then download some subwoofer test tones, burn them
to CD or use a program like sigjenny (not used it myself) and away you go.

Thanks for the reply, I had a quick look looks comprehensive, but I must admit way above my head ,looks like I will have to take crash course in Frequency response crossover cut off etc.

And I thought I was the kiddy using my SPL to set levels.

Are there any good guides to all of the above?
