Subwoofer broken?

Hello sorry if this the wrong section I did look for support.
My Sub from Tannoy SFX has started making a strange sound, even when only the Powercable is connected

never a good sign, usually something to do with the amp or maybe the driver, sorry I'm at work so I cannot listen to your recording.

is the sub still under warranty, if so take it back, if not a quick search on ebay shows quite a few Tannoy subs up for sale.
