Hi everyone, first post on here so here goes!

I've got a very simple set up next to most on here but I would like some advice re a subwoofer and speaker placement.

I have a TEAC CRL 600 CD Receiver bought from richer sounds chester along with Gale Gold Monitor bookshelf speakers. The system is in my front room with the speakers sitting on the mantelpiece above the fire due to space and small children issues! I have it set up for my TV/DVD as well. The TEAC only has one input for a subwoofer and I would like some advice or ideas for which ones might suit. I want to improve the sounds for films and my cds! You might have guessed I have'nt got a huge budget for this addition so any advice gratefully received or links to ebay etc! Thanks james

What budget are you looking at? A good cheap sub is the wharfedale sw150, I think you can pick this up for around £150. Not sure how it will match your current equipment though.

Thanks for the reply. I had seen the wharfedale had good reviews and £150 about the max budget for me. Would I be able to link this to my TEAC as it only has one input jack for a sub?? Does the single input on the TEAC limit my choice or is there a way around this? Appreciate the advice from people in the know! I have got a pair of oldish Mordaunt Short floor standers which i can swap the Gales for if the sub is a bit much for them.Thing is the M/S's have to go on their sides on shelves four feet up as floor space is limited! Thanks for any help jim
