Sub Woofer connections

Do I need an interface to connect a high level lead from an Onkyo TX-SR505 amp to an MJ Acoustics Pro 50 Mkii sub or can I connect directly?

if you want to connect speakers output from amp to the sub, the sub needs to have hi-level input and you need a cable with bare wires on one end (to connect to speaekr terminals) and a special connector to fit the sub's hi-level input on the other.

Edit: just checked - your sub does seem to have this connector - neutrik speakon.
