Hello

Having had my Panny 37LZD85 for few months now, I am well pleased. Thanks for all the help in choosing this fine unit. The sound onboard is really excellent..so much so I can delay the purchase of a Yamaha Soundbar for now. However, the base could do with little oomph, so i would lke to buy a small subwoofer to boost the TV sound. The unit has a SW input, so can I just plug one in and get a crisper and more powerful base sound??? [Please could i have some recommendations? Would it be best to get the soundbar 1st? What interconnects would be needed? Ive seen a Yamaha at about £ 70 that would sit nice on my rack, anygood?] Thanks again

Small sub?

Velodyne Microvee. They don't come any smaller. About the size of a suger cube and reviews favourably too.

I wouldn't be any kind of PV1 devotee if I didn't tell you to check it out. Oomph with looks.

BK XLS200 is compact and available direct from the manufacturer for £289 - huge oomph for the size and cost and a good range of finishes to be had too.

Ta Guys for swft response. Checked out the MicroVee.......ermmmm.....£575 is a littel on the steep side for my needs

At this stage I simply want to enhance the base on my LCD without a current home cinema system[to be purchased later]

Im not a total heathen to the need for quality sound but right now I just like some recommendations on SW about £100 that will give my upscaled DVDs and TV output anice rounded powerful base background.

Ta.......again

my advice is dont waste your money. the only diffrence it will make is loads of boom and it wondnt sound natural. save for a sound bar or a proper surround system. did you say your tv has a sub out??

If you want a quality sub at a bargain price richer sounds are selling Mordant and short 309 for £129 thats £100 off oringinal price A 5star product. Also consider the Wharfedale diamond 9 hcp sub for £199 or the complete av package for £350. If your looking to buy a soundbar what about the Qacoustics Qav with sub and rear wall speakers for £600 Buy a budget amp and you will have plenty of bass and also proper surround sound.

Yes the unit does havea sub-out socket at he rear, which I thought a small sub like the Yamaha woulkd purely enhance the already excellent onboard sound and give it some base oomph........

Gonna sound like an idiot, but does Home Cinema rely on channelling thru an amp or DVD player soley or can it also give power and range to ordinary TV programmes/sport/films by utilising the sets' own Audio system?
