im looking for a good subwoofer around £500 - 600 (less the best)

my room size is around 2700 cu.ft

currant i have two Q 2070 what are ok but have a lack of bass, find slow and stuggle to keep with the kef speakers.

looking at a bk monolith+ and EQ-Max 12 Inch Subwoofer or a REL T7.

im in to my bass lower the better with music and flims

i would say 60% on music and the other 40% movies and gamming.

The Monolith is a good option if you want deep bass, you'll not better it for the money without going DIY. If you are at all handy it might be worth buying the parts and following some DIY plans for a little project.

The other BK option is the XXLS400 which I own, it goes plenty deep enough for me and I was prepared to sacrifice that little bit of grunt to the Monolith in order to get the speed and smaller enclosure of the sealed cabinet the 400 has.

If film and getting as deep as you can on your budget for the likes of dub step is your priority stick to the Monolith, if you want a slightly more subtle size and an all rounder the XXLS400 is a good option. Personally I'd not swap my 400 for the Mono unless it was to be used in a purely HT application.

It may be a bit lef-field but if you are using primarily for music I might suggest you look at getting a pair of REL T Zero's.

It'll mean a bit more tweeking to setup but you might find the results better than a one-box system.

Just a thought.

i email BK last night asking if i could pop in to test them out, as im poping down to see my family in april. Bk are bassed in my home town of southend.

ill cheek out the XXLS 400 and the mono if i can.

I like looks of REL and have been advised to test out velodyne by the local hifi man

any other brands are welocome, my budget can be streched if the sub is the one but like to keep it under 800 but thats tops as im planning to 600 pound

the REL T Zero dose look nice and small but dont think that will give the big hit in the chest what i love for the price i could get 2 XLS200 what would eat them by the What hi fi review saying that i would be ok with haveing 2 Subs as that is what got atm but would like the one big sub, size of the sub is not important as long it sounds good. PS i suffer with severe dyslexia so i may not always make sense
