Style speakers or floor standing?

Hi there i have an issue with my KEF 2005.2 speakers and i am maybe looking to replace them. I have never considered floor standing speaker set up before and never really looked into them for quality/price against a 5.1 style speaker surround set. If i go the style speakers then i will go for the Q Acustics 2000 which are about £475 i think but can anyone give me an idea of maybe the other option? what price, what model should i look at and how will they compare to the Q Acustics?

How does the Q Acoustics compare against say the Wharfdale 10's? in sound quality

more or less the same tonality but the diamonds go much deeper

My sub has packed in and KEF have said it will cost me £150 to repair. I worked out that if i sell each individual egg for around £50 on ebay and maybe a faulty sub for £20-£30 then all i need to do is put £100 towards a brand new Q Acousicts 2000 but then i started to think about some floor standing ones but not sure how they compare in price & sound quality

So what would be a great floor standing speaker set up for around the £500 mark?

And would i then be better off than if i had the QA 2000 set up?

i guess i woundn't change the kef for the Q acoustics.might just buy some other sub. the sub on the Q pack was not so good. i guess the new sub won't be much better

Must admit i do get mixed messages on this forum.

Someone says that the Q Acoustics 2000 are 10 times better than the KEF 2005.2 and i should go with them and others say i should keep the KEFS.

Or do i go for some floor standing ones?

havent heard the new 2000 but breefly heard the 1020i .for movies i dont think they are better than the 2005 kefs.for stereo they are

for 500? only the 1030 or the new Q models.for a pair! or the kef iq50
