I am after some advice on what to buy to stream my music from my sony laptop to my hifi. I have all my cd's as apple lossless and also use spotify premium. I have looked at an apple tv but am unsure whether i could use spotify through this. I also have a ps3 so have considered using that but it it doesn't seem to support apple lossless and the user interface is not so good.

Would i be best to just buy an apple tv (2) or is there something better? I would consider re-ripping my cd's if required too.

Would personally suggest a squeezebox. Ticks all your boxed and no need for re-ripping.

Think sonos would do too, but never used it (don't like the fact that there's no display on the unit, but that's just my opinion).

Thanks

Any reason for a squeezebox over apple tv? Will it stream spotify? What about internet radio?

Forgot to mention, i have an iphone i could use as a remote. Would this work with a squeezebox?

Don't know too much about apple tv as i use blu ray player for video streaming. But it may be the best solution for you if you want to stream movies and music. But again, i like the display on the front of the squeezebox where everyone can see it, and i have them throughout the house (you can sync them to play at the same time in different rooms).

You can download an app called iPeng to control squeezebox on your iphone. It works fine but i don't use it too often as i rarely have the wifi turned on on my iphone.

Squeezeboxes are compatible with spotify (though i don't use this feature) and internet radio.
