Another happy RS6 & A85 owner here

I do find it a teeny bit bright, but I haven't heard another combination for similar money that sounds as good overall. Well, to my ears at least!

I'm lean to Arcam...just wondering about the arcam alpha 8 or 9 would do the job. And if there is a big difference between the 8 and 9 series..

The Arcam Alpha 9 and 120 amps are the ones you should aim for to be honest.

Very good amps indeed and will drive the M/A RS6's waith ease. Greaqt soundstage too with deep, solid bass, smooth and detailed midrange and great treble

The Alpha 8 is a good amp but it's a lot better when partnered with its matching power amp (Arcam Alpha 8P)

TBH; if you want just a one box amp; aim for the Arcam Alpha 10 integrated if you can. It's still a SUPERB amp!

One word of warning on the A85, if you intend to use it for your vinyl. The phono stage for the A85 was an optional extra, you had to get it fitted by Arcam (I had one fitted to mine). Without it, you'll need to get a separate external phono stage, unless you already have one.

oh, thank you for the info about the a85. It§s important for me the phono stage.

Did you ever heard of this valve amp? Dynavox VR-70E II.

It seems to be quite good and cheap. Also, do you know if I can use this amp with vinyl of have to buy something separate.

Thanks

I could imagine that a cheap valve amplifier/RS6 will make sounds not unlike an elephant with digestive problems ...

I could of course be wrong ...
