Steljes Audio NS1 - opinions?

As I'm working from home a bit more now, I'm looking at 'upgrading' my currently near non- existent home office hifi - at present I only listen to a portable radio.

i had been considering buying a portable Bluetooth speaker such as the JBL Flip 3, or, at a stretch, the Bose Soundlink mini, but as I don't need portability or battery power, I wondered if I could get something 'better'. They would have to sit either side of a laptop, with me only 2-3 feet away.

Whilst wondering I came across these - Steljes Audio NS1. Active Bluetooth speakers in a small form factor and available for just under £90 from various places. Full spec here: http://www.steljesaudio.co.uk/docs/range_intros/Powered_Speakers.shtml

Has anyone got any experience of these? Any thoughts or alternatives? I'd really rather not spend more than £100. Sorry it's not a very 'hifi' question!

Can't say exactly, the ns3s got an ok review here some time back, but they got great reviews elsewhere. You'll find the review on the site and i believe that they can be got for 120, they were reviewed at 100. I'd be inclined to go that extra 20

I believe they went out of business some time ago. Avoid.

Everyone to their own, but at 120 probably worth a shot, it's not a massive purchase

Apparently they were bought out and are still going. NS-3 look better for my purposes (thanks for the warning though).

Any other alternatives for less than say £150? I'd really rather not go down the route of secondhand normal size amp and speakers for space and aesthetic reasons.

Your budget is a bit limitng. These ones seem to have lots of happy owners

If you stretch to 200 you are kind of entering better products
