How would one of the above fair in my system. I have a CA 540A v.2 and Monitor Audio BR5s.

Would the DAC in either product prove competent bearing in mind I currently use a CA 640C v.2.

I want to move away from spinning discs and have already set up squeezecenter and flac files on my pc (just need a wireless receiver) but don't want to deprive the sound quality with a poorer DAC than that in my 640C.

The DACs in the Squeezebox are comparable to a £300-£400 CD player. If you hang on a bit, the Touch is supposed to better both the SB3 and Receiver.

Really? Given their respective prices! Thanks. What is the Touch?

Hi:

I just received my SB3 after ordering it yesterday. Connected it to Naim 5 amp and Dali Ikon 6, and the SQ is excellent. I guess an external DAC would improve the sound further.

I have some queries though. Some radio stations stream at 98 kbps, so does the Burr-Brown DAC really improves the sound from 98 kbps ? and is the sound coming from SB3 equal to my 640C V2 ? -any users of SB3 pls answer.

Yeah I see it on there the other day - looks a bit too expensive for my budget though
