Hi all,

Merry chrimbo and all that.

Been away from the site for while, namely as it doesn't seem to work very well with my iPad!

Anyway, I acquired an Inspire Hifi Apollo turntable recently and great though it is, it's a little fiddly changing the belt between 33 and 45 speeds. Are there any reasonably priced speed selector boxes out there (circa £2-250 or less) that will work with this TT? I am assuming the Rega offering won't work due to their 24v motors?

Best

"...However, the inspire Quartz Electronic PSU is available as an option and this offers 33 and 45rpm at the touch of a button. Normally this unit retails for £350 but is offered for the reduced price of £270 to Apollo purchasers. Handily, the PSU requires no rewiring; it simply plugs directly into the IEC mains socket on the turntable."

So says the review on Inspire's website. I'd be disinclined to try an alternative with such a good TT.

Hope that helps.

Thanks NP, guest I shouldn't scrimp with these things! Was hoping to start investigating a speaker upgrade this year. One of my lesser talked about NY resolutions!

Cheers
