I have a amplifier it says rms power 85watt 8 ohms does it mean i have to get 85watt speakers

Nope. Safest bet is to get speakers with a higher power rating. It does't matter how high. The key thing is speaker efficiency, i.e. how many dba for 1 watt. With 85 watts I waould aim for a speaker efficiency of anout 88dba / 1w / 1m, or higher.
