Speakers to sound like Grado SR60s?!

My friend recently listened to my Grado SR60 headphones through my set-up and really liked them! He currently has the same amp as me (Arcam A32)but he has a CA Azur 840C rather than an Arcam CD73 and has Wharfedale 9.6s. He says he wants speakers that "sound like the SR60s". Sorry for little info, but does anybody have any recommendations, as I can't quite put my finger on the sound that the Grados deliver. Cheers! Oh, and budget of £1,200! ...works for his money! lol.

the answer is that you cant get a loudspeaker to replicate a pair of headphones. what you can do (and i would advise) is to get your friend to tell you what specifically he liked about the headphones sound and then to look for these qualities in a loudspeaker. goodluck

Yeah, that's what I said to him! But he said they were "just right". Listening to them now compared to my Wharfey's, they are a bit "fuller" and they can go quite low in the bass...but they also have better timing...
