Speakers for my PC

Is it best to buy dedicated speakers for a desk top, or would something like Wharfedale Diamond 9.0 give better performance?

Well I was faced with the same choice and plumped for the Wharfedale diamond 9.1 - and am very happy with them. Although there are some very good active speakers designed for iPod/Desktop now like the AudioEngine and the Epoz Aktimate - and I haven't done the comparison, so can't advise. ÿI got such a good deal for the Wharfedales from my local dealer (and had an amplifier I could use), that it was half the cost of getting the Audioengines....and it means I can play around with amplifiers etc thus scratching the upgradeitis itchÿ
