I have a budget of £130.00 to buy a pair of bookshelf size speakers for my kitchen diner. I will use my old Denon Dm30 micro system to power them. They have to go on the floor close to the wall. What speakers would be best? I was assuming front ported ones but have heard a few comments that even some of those, like the Wharfedale 9.1's, don't sound too great near a wall. So open to any suggestions.

Given the positioning it really doesn't matter.

Get a pair of the cheapest branded speakers from Richers, Diamond 9.0 or Mourdaunt Short M10s for around £50.

Only spend more if you are able to rethink positioning and setup.
