Hello my first post!

First thing first, I have switch from a solidstate system GamuT D3 and GamuT monoamps M250i.

To E.A.R 192DACute, E.A.R 868 & E.A.R 890, a downsize in money cost for the system, but musical an other division.

The Speakers are GamuT L-5 a power hungry beast, it drops to 2.8ohm in the 200hz region.

I have a very good room 4 by 6,2 Meters and hard brickwall behind speakers and a concrete floor, the rest is wood.

No bass issues or acoustic problem!

I never has to crank the volume pot over 09:30!

I know that the Speakers L-5 are not the best with tubes, it works almost! E.A.R 890 to things way better than the Monoamps did but..

They are hard to drive, when I audition the L-5 in the store in a big room! We did try with a Musical Fidelity KW500, Linn Akurate amps, they all did not drive the L-5 a useless combination!

So with that in mind I know that the L-5 is hard to drive, and they are not here to stay!

But the big question what to replace them with?

I know that the price tag is NOT what´s counts! It´s the "Speaker and Amplifier together with the room"

And I think I want a UK speaker, I live in Sweden I think that my room is more UK style than US style.

I have in the past had Von Schweikert Speakers, did not work.

Music taste stretch from Slayer to Glenn Miller, but mostly it ´s stuff like John Cougar Mellencamp Little Richard ect ect..

A Speaker that makes my foot tap and I want an other Beer!

I have looked at Tannoy Kensington used (Expensive)

Spendor A9

Proac D28

All cables are JPS Superconductor 3

PS I live where it's hard to do listen to speakers, that why I try to narrow it down!

Regards

Fredrik

Hi.

Thanks for your reply

I don´t think Dynaudio is an easy load, they never impress at all, the ones I heard!

will look into Neat!

Dynaudio need space, that's true, and the new ones are meant to be easier to drive. Your EAR is no slouch - you're lucky indeed!

Neats have more of the foot tapping factor, I think you'll find.

If you want to spend that kind of money, look at the "Peitho" speakers. Google for "HayEndAudio". It is built in Holland, that could be a problem to travel, but might be an option. If you want to spend this money, it could be worth the effort!
