So now I am seeing that maybe the Martin Logan motion 20's might be too big for the room

The room is only 13 feet by 20 and the listening distance is 12 feet only

Would the Martin Logan motion 15 be a better choice?

The Motion 20' needed quite a bit of volume to really shine

Or you think the 20's are better at low volume compared to the 15 pushed?

I think there is only one person that can answer your question. Go audition.

I'd hazard a guess and say that there are not that many people on this forum that have heard the Martin Logan 15's let alone own them.....

says he awaiting hundreds of contradictory posts... :)

Not many that have heard them, but several (me, for instance) interested in the impressions of someone who has. So, audition and share your impressions, tone! :type:

Well I listened to the Martin Logan Motion 40's 20's and 15's ( bookshelf)

They are all awesome and I like Martin Logans take on sound more than B&W

They have more ambiance and the highs and mids are to die for.

Dire Straights though an Arcam FMJ A19 through Martin Logan 40's sounded like Knoppflers guitar amp was in the room.

amazing.

The SAME song with B&W's just wasnt the same.

The Martin Logans gave me goosbumps.

Its pretty eye opening ( or ear opening) how different speakers from the different frequencies they reproduce have a different effect on you.

I like the B&Ws but they leave me a bit neutral feeling.

Thing is my space ( living room) is pretty small. 12 feet listening distance by appx 18 feet width.

Even the 20's would be tough to push in this environment without being too loud.

But I like the dispersion of having more than one woofer in a speaker.
