speaker plugs

i am new to home cinema ( i have had a hifi system for over 30 years!) and just bought an onkyo tx 605 av reciever and some qed silver anniversary xt speaker cables to go with it and the plugs (4mm i think as i bought the cables with them already on) are too big for the speaker sockets on the back of it has the size been changed or something as they fit the speaker end and my old stero amp ok has anybody else had this problem many thanks

Have you removed the black speaker post bungs that are in the posts? I used 4mm plugs on my Onkyo 905 earlier today.
