Is the left speaker placed on the left side of the amp when standing behind the amp or on the left side of the amp when standing in front of the amp?

The sub out IS for movie lfe but also for any frequencies below the sub crossover frequency. U may need to check amp settings ie fronts set to small (else.all frequencies sent to front) & lfe.sent to sub only or both.

The amp does't have setting like an av reciver. Its just common integrated amp controls but has a pre out. Line out. Sub out on the back. What about adjusting the crossover frq on the back of the sub (whalfedale sw150) it starts at 35hz to 85hz. Which i carn't use lol

A quick look on the web at your amp manual - it says 'A subwoofer with a built-in power amplifier can be connected to be used.

Connect LINE INPUT on the subwoofer with a built-in power amplifier to PRE OUT: SUBWOOFER terminal on the integrated amplifier.

If your subwoofer does not have a built-in amplifier, connect the input jack of your amplifier to the pre out jack of the subwoofer.

For details, refer to the manual supplied with your subwoofer.
